In order to carry out our mission of creating a regenerative culture through connecting, sharing, promoting and supporting existing and aspiring ecovillages, projects and the organisations and networks that support them, GENOA runs both internal projects that improve backend systems and build team capacity; and external projects that carry out outreach and education programs within the network and beyond.
In February 2020, during a a 3-day virtual strategy meeting, the GENOA Operations and Council circles, created a five year plan for the organisation.
The Dream for GENOA (from the 2020 strategy meeting)
- We are renowned for actively running a number of projects in partnership with entities/stakeholders that are focused on climate emergency and climate change resilience.
- We run an active learning and development function, which includes programs for youth, advocacy, ecovillage design education, and other relevant programs.
- We have a real and virtual office which has full-time and part-time staff, with people who are actively working on fundraising; finance; communications; advocacy; education; and gatherings.
Our team is working actively to make this dream a reality.
“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”
