National Ecovillage Networks bring together ecovillages, projects, and kindred spirit organisations, who help support the transition of traditional villages or sustainable settlements, within countries to share skills and experiences and advocate on a local and national level.
GEN networks bring together and provide a platform to a wide variety of projects and stakeholders related to community empowerment and regeneration. They provide invaluable support for communities, projects, and broader public engagement by organising national gatherings as platforms for the exchange of best practices, and the creation of synergies. They build bridges between local initiatives and policymakers, between academia, green business, and practitioners.
In GENOA, we have three registered national networks:
There are many emerging national ecovillage networks in the region. A key requirement for starting a national network is the existence of at least three ecovillages and ecovillage projects in a country, and the drive to register as an organisation, in order to do outreach and activate the network. By activating a national network, ecovillage solutions can be disseminated more widely and quickly.
